News and Announcements
It has finally been posted. The playoffs are a go with the following plan…… Each divisions will play as follows with the 50’s starting Tuesday September 28th at 6:30 with Bulldog Recycling playing All American Flooring in a timed game, with the winner then playing Old School at 7:45 and will be 7 innings. The 58’s will play Wednesday September 29th at 6:30 with Burrel Farms playing Fighting Dogs 7 innings and the 63’s will play Thursday September 30th at 6:30 with Sherwood Landscaping playing Party Time “Knights” at 6:30 7 innings.
Home team will take the 3rd base dugout and will be decided by a coin flip between the managers as early as they can get together to flip the coin. Good luck to all teams.
Here is the schedule for the Memorial Tournament for Paul Sanchez. Games will be played at Quigley Park on Saturday Sept. 25 & Sunday Sept. 26.
It was won by All Mixed UP who beat Gerald’s Giants in the first game of the championship round. The game was crazy as it seemed each team would score at will. In the 6th the game was tied at 20/20. All Mixed Up score 5 in there half to take a 20-15 lead into the open innings. In the top of the open inning Gerald’s Giants were down by 5 20 to 15. But they got things going with one out and then took advantage of 3 errors, (one by Ed Daniels !!! on a pop up ) then 5 hits and an intentional walk and got the 6 to take the lead 25-20. Then in the bottom of the 7th, All Mixed up came to life and batted around and a walk off double by Ken Gideon cleared the base for the 26-25 win.

Being in resent contact with the Paul Sanchez family, it was brought to my attention that Paul did not have any insurance for his burial expenses. With that being said, I would like our league to put on a fundraiser to help with the expenses. On September 25th we are having a tournament. The fee will be $20.00 per player. The complete details +_as of yet are not finalized. We will either have a 50’s and 60’s division or a mixed division. We will be playing by FSSL’s Rule and league bats only. If you want to play in the tournament, please let us know at Brenda Forth at 907-7633, Tony Diaz at 547-6559 or Don Westbrook at 231-4805. IN addition to the tournament, we will be having a donation box at the park on the scorekeeper’s table. I hope that everyone will be joining in the tournament to honor Paul Sanchez and to have a good time.
